Feedback From The Other Groups!

In class we decided to show the other groups our video's that we shot to see what they thought of them. Unfortunately, i can't upload the video's onto my blog because the files are too big! We asked our classmates to evaluate them and give us a target to improve on. This is what they said . . . (see comments)

  1. “Looking at the footage you recorded, I can say you have all collaborated to create your initial idea from your storyboarded guideline (traditionally used by professional institutions) to create the footage needed to create your teaser trailer, as part of your advertising campaign for your film.
The use of camera was utilized to a good standard throughout the footage, giving a variety of shot distances and angles, whilst also considering the suitability along with the representations of what the features entailed. At times the camera was unsteady, but you made progress with what equipment you had available.

    PROS-
    • Good amount of takes- wide variety for selection.
    • MISE-EN-SCENE- the props along with everything else in the frame matched accordingly to your storyboard, which were chosen for representing the character and genre of the film.
    • Good Acting- showed confidence and skill.
    • Camera shots showed variety.

    CONS-
    • Many miss-takes made- due to camera crew.
    • No/ little diegetic sound.

Another thing is the narrative, which I don’t understand. I'm not shore it was intentional to give little away to the audience. Plus I'm not part of your target audience, so I guess I'm not meant to understand anyway.
My advice would be to redo some scenes where you haven’t got consistent amounts of footage that could potentially be used, and then decide what one looks best, instead of choosing the one with no mistakes. This would increase your chance of getting your initial idea thoroughly through into visual form.”
